Stoke Mandeville Stadium is synonymous with sport and is the birthplace of disability sports and is known as the “home of the paralympics”.
“England Handball hosted our annual Regional Academy training camp at Stoke Mandeville. We had over 70 of our most promising 15 & 16 year old athletes attend the residential camp here for a week. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who helped us from sport centre staff, to catering staff and those working in the accommodation area. Everything was taken care of for us and it meant all the focus was on ensuring the athletes had a great time on the court, and improved as players. The facilities and accommodation was exactly what was necessary for us, and was tailored specifically to suit us. The food was excellent and met the needs of all the athletes to help enhance their performance.” – Mark Hawkins, National Performance Manager – England Handball.
