National Pool Plant Operator Certificate

You will learn about circulation, filtration, disinfection, pH correction and heating of pool water. You will also learn how to maintain water which is safe and pleasant to swim in, how to correctly test pool water and understand how to restore it to ideal conditions. Certification lasts for three years.

Who is the course designed for?

The course is aimed at anyone involved in and responsible for the day to day operation of pool plant. This includes local authority employees, schools and private pool owners.

Course details

Level: Intermediate – although no prior qualifications are needed, those new to pool operations are recommended to complete the National Pool Plant Foundation Certificate first

Duration: 3 days

Training Format: Face to Face

Assessment: Multiple choice test and a work based assignment

Certification: The National Pool Plant Operators Certificate. This is awarded by IQL UK – the awarding body for The Royal Life Saving Society – for three years

You will be automatically placed on the CIMSPA’s Register for 3 years

Pool Plant Operator Revalidation (RoPPP Update)

This is a one-day update covers current best practice and technical advances in water management and safety. By taking this update course, you will be recognised by employers and the industry for keeping your technical knowledge of pool plant and water treatment up to date. You should take this course before your three-year National Pool Plant Operator certificate expires.

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone who passed their National Pool Plant Operator course within the last three years.

Training Format: Face to Face or e-learning

Assessment: Knowledge review at the end of both the face to face and i-Learn

Certification: The National Pool Plant Operators Certificate. This is awarded by IQL UK – the awarding body for The Royal Life Saving Society – for three years

You will be automatically placed on the CIMSPA’s Register for a further three years
