Stoke Mandeville Stadium welcomes England World Cup star

Aylesbury Rugby Club recently welcomed England rugby World Cup star Lawrence Dallaglio to the Mini Rugby Festival held on the 25th April.

The Festival, sponsored by Harpers Fitness, welcomed more than 1,200 youngsters from across the country to battle it out for the elusive rugby title.

Blair MacGillivray Regional Manager for the National Sports Centre commented, “We are so pleased to have been involved with such a fantastic event. With Lawrence on hand throughout the day, the kids could pick up some handy tips and of course, try and impress him with their rugby skills.

At the end of the festival, Huddersfield RFC under 12s were crowned winners in there age and were presented with their medals by Lawrence. Huddersfield had travelled with over 200 in 5 coaches with players from 8 to 12 years old and stayed the weekend at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
Richard Millman from Huddersfield ARFC said, “This was a fantastic weekend; the under 12 kids were over the moon having got their medals from Lawrence.”
