Local fitness enthusiasts raise money for WheelPower

While thoughts are firmly on the post Christmas detox Stoke Mandeville Stadium hosted the launch of its new group training programme on Saturday 7 January, which saw four new classes introduced including Body Balance, Body Attack, Body Jam and Body Combat.

More than 100 local people attended, all looking to try out the latest class, burn off any festive indulges and raise money for Aylesbury-based WheelPower, which owns the local fitness and leisure centre on Guttmann Road.

Dan Boniface, Health and Fitness Manager for Stoke Mandeville Stadium said: “The fitness extravaganza was a great success. The atmosphere was electric. It was good to see over 60 people in one class all working hard and having fun.
The local fitness instructors did a great job of showcasing the new classes and the members and users really enjoyed the sessions – with everyone leaving with a smile on their face.”

The event raised £170 for WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport.

Stoke Mandeville Stadium offers over 40 classes including Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Indoor Cycling plus classes that focus on key areas such as bums, legs and tums but one thing’s for certain - there is something for everyone.
