The Lords Taverners National Junior Championships is the highlight of the wheelchair basketball calendar for young people across the United Kingdom.
The Championships see under 19 and under 15 teams travelling from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and nine regions in England. The Championships have grown from eight representative teams to 24 teams and sees some of the best wheelchair basketball you will see in the country. The last two years have seen finals go to extra time and colleagues from across Europe come to observe and get ideas of how to duplicate the championships in their countries.
Outside of the event itself, the Championships drive development of young people in wheelchair basketball at a regional and home country level, providing a real legacy for the sport.
The championships and regional programme are supported by The Lords Taverners who have committed a large sum of support over five years to grow participation in wheelchair basketball.
